A cuvée from the heights of the Pyrenees. A honeyed, botanical nose lends itself to the light, white wine flavors, finishing with a note of anise from the rhodendron flower itself.
A cuvée made from rhododendron honey harvested in Cauterets in the Hautes Pyrénées. The pink flowers of this type of rhodendron produce a very clear white honey, allowing for a magically translucent mead. With a nose that exaggerates the scent of the rhododendron flower, and its honeyed and slightly aniseed flavor, the Cuvée Rhododendron is truly a novel discovery for amateurs and connaisseurs alike.Batch 135-23 : 12% alc. - residual sugars at bottling: approx. 8g sugar/L
Mead categories differ from those of wine, usually containing slightly more sugar. At 25g/L and under, a mead is considered dry. The style allows for a better expression of the notes within a honey, showing off botanical notes of its surrounding flora, while retaining characteristics of the honey itself. Our dry meads are balanced with a natural acidity provided by bacteria indigenous to the beehive.
Enjoyed as an aperitif, it also pairs well with meats in sweet and savory sauces (American-style barbecue, Chinese braised dishes), lemon sorbet, etc. Serve cold like white wineMore about our artisanal mead
